Both Sterling Silver and Brass may tarnish when not being worn. The metal is happiest when worn, and likes to be clean and dry. Absolutely wear in the shower, however salt water or chlorine may cause oxidization. These bracelets are pure metal, they are not plated or coated. When tarnish or oxidization occurs metal can always be polished back to it’s original happy shininess
